At 18 months of age jamie was diagnosed with autism as he got older those mannerisms got worse because aggression and frustrations started to be baked into his day. Just getting through a day was a ton of guesswork and walking on eggshells that something doesn't set him off. Four months ago we thought the height of Vince's cognition was i want juice but now he's cranking out these sophisticated paragraphs. We're seeing that when we address the sensory and motor differences of non-speakers they're capable of things that nobody realized they were capable of changing everything about how we teach and raise children with autism.
