Linguistics should be taught as part of the curriculum in middle school, he says. Language is alive and it moves and changes due to social factors such as oppression or race. Linguists are not dogmatic about how language works but they can teach kids science instead of just a set of rules that scare them into conform linguistically. "i think we could be less dogmatic"
