In a sense, we have a natural inclination to make a religious offering in relationship to our highest acts. We've got this inner altar, this irrepressible religiousness, this desire to make an offering. But it's not good enough on its own. When we unite the interior altar of our hearts, where all of that sympathy lies, and we unite that to the altar of Jesus Christ, the flow of sympathy is right. The love is hitting its target.
