Project management is no longer about lines and budgets, it's now about outcomes. The profession is not about doing work around domains of performance but delivering value to stake holders. Project managers need to be able to corral all that information into a coherent plan for the future. And so what we need are people who can do this job without getting bogged down in knowledge areas such as budgeting or planning.
