The Democrats' 180 on Immigration

I think that they, I, my understanding from my Marxist class point of view is that actually the reason that the Democrats did this 180 on immigration because they represented labor. They want them to keep being their nannies and their gardeners and working in their restaurants and paying them less than minimum wage. So I have a much even more cynical reading, which is that it's totally economic and totally built on the idea that they will never make these people citizens. But I don't think that's the right explanation for why they made that 180.
