The Cost of a Single Hour Purchase for Life Everlasting
In Polycarp's account of martyrdom, the author goes through people who have been martyred and people who were but tend to be martyr but chickened out. He says that it's as if Christ is standing next to them and talking to them as a friend in the moment of death. So like an hour of suffering is nothing compared to eternity. That greater perspective is often forgotten.
