The Queen's father, George VI died in 1952 and there was a discussion about what would happen to him. He particularly wanted to be buried in the ground like his father and grandfather. So they decided to build this little extension chapel with one exception. The ashes of Princess Margaret were cremated and her ashes were buried here alongside the rest of the family.
