Is There a Limitation of the ASIC?
The Tofino is a fully programmable ASIC. It lets you parse into packets up to about 1200, oh, sorry, 500 bytes into a packet. And then you can then emit, you can modify headers, emit new headers, plus your payload. You can build this ridiculously fast DNS relay or a DNS resolver for potentially your authority of DNS server if you wanted to do that. There are definitely limits, but this, there is very little fixed function sort of functionality here.

We've been hosting a live show weekly on Mondays at 5p for about an hour, and recording them all; here is the recording from February 27th, 2023.
In addition to Bryan Cantrill and Adam Leventhal, speakers included Ryan Goodfellow, Levon Tarver, Ben Naecker, and Arjen Roodselaar.
