What's the Difference Between Germany and America?

i had a lot of stereotypes in my head about what german parents might be like. I thought they would be strict in controlling. And you found just the opposite. There's a word that parents really appreciate in german, isn't there? Zelps standgeit, sepstandikite, which means self reliance. That's of very strong value in germany. Germany walks the talk as society. They pay high taxes and part of those high taxes is a right for government funded child cares. In berlin now you have at least two years of day care, pree school, in kindergarten, free for every family.
