The Impetus for Reform Came From the Medical Profession
Newt Gingrich: It's not true that legislation was marching across the country. The real empetus for reform came from the medical profession, especially from the public health profession. He says it wasn't the court's decision in row that triggered the big back lash. There was a strong opposition, but, but you might say, special interest group opposition to abortion as reform started being in the air.
