John Cochran: I think what we're learning is that the American primary system has some problems to it. Neil Ferguson: The days of the smoke filled room had all sorts of problems, but at least they were focused on vetting candidates producing vaguely reasonable candidates who might have a chance of both winning a general election and also governing with some degree of responsibility.
