Hosea 11-9: I Will Not Vent the Full Fury of My Anger
The northern kingdom never had a rightful heir on their throne, and the priests that were appointed there led the people to idolatry. Hosea also describes the era of Jeroboam I when the bronze calves were formed and worshipped. Over time, Israel multiplied their altars, and though they still brought offerings to God at times, it was just for show. Their hearts were not devoted to the Lord. They forgot their maker.
