Is China Taking the Lead in Lithium-Ion Batteries?

China has come racing out the blocks to dominate the position it's already got, both in battery manufacturing and those raw material chemical inputs. The rest of the world can't build battery capacity as quickly and as cheaply as China. For me, it's a case of China just getting a very early lead on this kind of next generation of electric vehicles by slowly catching up. But there's no doubt that China, if you look at the auto industry 15 years ago, China was trying to attract all the big brands there to make ice vehicles.
