Senica's Essay on History
Senica says each of the three kinds of history is justified in only one soil and one climate. In every other it grows into a noxious weed, he writes. And so what he's doing here are contrasting these forms of history which are done out of need to the way history was done in nich's time. He also takes a critical look at how knowledge and study is understood by the modern man. His assessment of the modern educated person is that we have this insatiable hunger for knowledge. This means that history must be done for the sake of knowledge and knowledge alone.
