The Command to Submit to the Elders

Churches want happy leaders. They don't want dutiful clergy, and perhaps all the more when they're on the platform on sundays. We want pastors who serve, not under compulsion, but willingly, from the heart. Paul says in first timothy one 11, who acts from joy. He wants pastors to labor with joy for our joy. This is how god shepherds, cares for loves his people,. Not under compulsion,but willingly, from a heart of love.
