Is There a Great, Timeless, Unchanging Work in Wroth?
Bellow transcends. Bello makes an attempt to tell us larger universal truth. Bella makes attempts to empathize. And this, to me, is where great art comes or goes. It doesn't have to be pretty or nice or easy to read or gratifying, or even particularly moving. But if it doesn'ta stem from a great source of empathy, as, for example, michael jackson music, surely, absolutely, then it's not good art. I finished your book saying like, right, that's actually why i think that philip roth wasn't just a probably terrible human being, but really shiddy writer.
