The Dangers of De-Platforming Left-Wing Groups

I wouldn't ever argue for left-wing groups to be de-platformed. What I'm saying to people is that there'd be real danger this would happen. Of course it would. The key point is not to get things wrong, the key point is to actually think seriously about what we're doing. There's a very, very, very long left-wing tradition of support for freedom of speech. This was for centuries, our partisan signifier. And if we've lost sense of that on the left, that's a mistake that we're making.
