The 40 Laces of Paul

The Passion of the Christ does a really good job, if not maybe overly gory at times, depicting for us what would happen when someone was whipped with this. We don't know how serious or how significant these lashes were in Paul's case, but we can guarantee one thing. He's got the scars to prove that it happened.
