By the time I got to China in November of 2022, you weren't going out and about very much because every time you went anywhere, there was a risk that you might go somewhere where you were exposed. A lot of expats who were still in China had jobs where they had to travel. And if you had to travel, you again were constantly faced with these restrictions. Anytime you left, especially a major city like Beijing or Shanghai, you ran the risk that if there were COVID cases wherever you went,. You wouldn't be allowed back in.
