Is Edward Said in Orientalism?

I would take issue with some claims that Edward Said makes in Orientalism I know, and ironically I think that some of those points I disagree with are mistaken. He looks at Europeans as a historical You know, and he make claims about Jane Austen, Jane Austen somehow supported the slave trade when in fact she was opposed to it. It's like no that's just incorrect but he has these really powerful insights i remember him saying you can see how most Europeans who wrote about Asia were really resistant to actually understanding the internal dynamics of the society.
