How do you know if you've answered a question? Best is to ask the person who asks the question, ad i say, does that answer your question? Is, does that help? Does that makeyou hav any follow up questions? Or this is another time where you can turn it back over to the audience. What do others think? Because oftentimes then, if someone has a similar experience, they may chime in with and helps reinforce the response or the idea. Sometimes it can make sense to get the read on your audience by starting off by saying, right to day, here's the topic at hand.
