The Rise and Fall of the Illustration Industry

I went to Rhode Island School of Design and illustration at that time was kind of looked down on as sort of what you did if you couldn't make it in fine art. I started getting a lot of regular work for about three years and decided I'd had enough of Manhattan and moved to my hometown of Rochester, New York. And once again I lucked out because it was the advent of, it sounds ancient now, but the advent of fax machine and FedEx was really starting to explode. So I could fax my ruffs to clients anywhere and then FedEx the finish overnight. It just must have been an awesome time.
