The Ueshi - A Nomadic Confederation

The Ueshi were originally a powerful nomadic confederation living at the eastern end of the Tarim Basin. They are believed to have been descendants of an Indo-European language group, generally referred to as the Takarians. A prominent prince among the Kushan, Kajula Katfises, had risen in power in the middle of the first century AD. He soon managed to reunite the Ueshi under his banner, establishing the mighty Kushan Empire. It is here that we will halt our narrative of the former Hellenistic Far East and let us return to the Mediterranean.
