Banks are on track to smash the previous record of 343,500 accounts closed last year. Banks can shut accounts with as little as 14 days notice if they suspect it's being used to launder money. They're an estimated 90,000 so-called politically exposed persons,. including members of parliament, peers and judges who are subject to stricter checks by banks.
