"We were told by the people we were working with that it should take, you know, few weeks, a month, maximum. So we stayed on for three months," he says. "By the time we finally got our appointment with the federal police, the policia federales, it was for about eight months in the future." He and his wife are now trying to get their residency visas based upon the family unification visa. 'The bureaucracy is very bad there,' they say.
