Did the Barons Really Want to Invade the Sea?
There were concerns of scale. A conquest of this magnitude could very well end in ruin for all of them, even if they made it safely across the sea. Normandy wasn't exactly a heavily naval duchy. The assembled nobility largely feared the sea and believed that while they were bound to serve their duke on this side of the water, they weren't bound to serve ond it. So despite his interest in leading project sea horse, it's not like william had any experience in regadas or anything. I mean, if he had spent any significant time at sea, he probably would have realized how insane this plan was.
