The Importance of Peatlands in Africa
Peatlands are not known in tropical Africa. The Ramsar site that will be established around these source legs will be equivalent to the third largest in the world. We're very potential that the real source of the Zambi-Z is an Angola, not in Zambia. Without secure sources that are stable and protected, you're going to see these river systems become ephemeral. That obviously results in the collapse of fisheries. People not having access to water, human migration, big problems result from this.
