Introduction

I was thinking about all the work that you do when you're away from a person to keep that fire alive or even that like fire feeling, even if it's not passion with them. So I wrote this poem called After Nikki Giovanni, stoking the embers when you're not around. In the light of the flame, I'm remembering I can be beautiful and private too. Just in the intrinsic nature of that basically every person is beautiful just because they exist.
