Nietzsche's Anti-Introduction of Consciousness
For Nietzsche, the abstract good looks like pale in comparison to the physical good. The conscious intellect shaped and molded as it has been by the weakness and hurtishness of the collective morality cannot really be trusted. And so that's why perhaps the most dangerous thing is to untether the intellect from the instincts. But then now we come to the appearance of the passage in book five which clarifies many of ideas about consciousness.
