Astronomers dream of being able to study the universe before the first stars. To do this, you would build a giant radio telescope on the far side of the moon. There are two designs out there: one is called far side and another is called dark ages radio explorera. We can't see with light that part of the universe but there are telescopes that can detect things that are not light. The entire moon could act as a giant shield against radio waves.
