How to Control Your Glycine Buffer System

If you're missing five methyl folate and your glycine buffer system is on when it should be off, adding CME as a supplement or eating three times as much methionine could aggravate your glycine loss. So yes, maybe it's better to have the methyl groups, but it's coming at the expense of potentially wasting glycine. And my suspicion is that the more you waste the glycine, the more sarcosing you generate,. The less likely you are to shuttle the sarcosing back into the mitochondrion and regenerate glycine from it.
