The Yarkovsky Effect on Asteroids
In theory, there's like one exoplanet that's a good candidate for doing this kind of searching for ocean glint. We don't know what that planet is yet. But astronomers do know that asteroids get pushed around by the light pressure from the sun. And so over long periods of time, this means that the orbits of asteroids is quite random and chaotic. The same technique is going to work for both.
