Is India the Next Economic Superpower?

India is currently generating one sixth the output per capita as China. India's current economic trajectory started around the same time as China's in the early 1990s. The biggest thing on the chopping block in India's case, where it's protectionist policies for its domestic industries. If India wanted to defend its local car industry, it could put an import tax on all foreign cars shipped to the country.
