The Long Wait for the Liberation of France

By 1944 it's clear that soon the Allies will return to fight on mainland Europe. The resistance declares they have a membership of 100,000 desperate to liberate France. Sabotage plans target rail, telecoms, electricity and enemy troops. But during the long wait neither the Germans nor the bloodthirsty French paramilitary Milly's pours their hunting and execution of members of the secret networks. Finally on the 5th of June 1944 a strange message is read on BBC Laundra. This is London calling the European News Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Here are some messages for our films in occupied countries. John is going a very long beer this week.
