Why Do We Eat Boogers?

Mucophagy is the act of eating on mucus. Only 12 primate species have been observed to pick their nose whether it's like they're using their fingers or sticks or tools and that includes humans, gorillas, chimps and now eye eyes. The researchers did point to some past studies that suggest that humans may have evolved ingesting boogers to boost their immune system.
