The Importance of Trading
I think that if you adopt a strategy of being a bookmaker on an exchange it's almost impossible simply because the margins on the exchange are absolutely wafer thin. I've always considered myself to be somebody that is a real trader as it were in that I'm taking positions and then liquidating positions and attempting to profit from that. But very often the word trading gets muddled up with people that perhaps take a bet but it's a little bit more complicated than normal which doesn't resonate with me at all. Even though there are some huge traders with huge volume and huge turnover there are plenty that aren't at that level so ultimately it comes out in the wash.
