Trade Openness and Global Trade Integration Reduces Pandemic Risks
National security is to prevent wars and armed conflicts, or to be able to respond to them at least. Academic literature shows that free trade dramatically reduces the chance of armed conflict. Trade openness also helps you recover from a domestic or an external shock. We see this in the united states when the pandemic was raging here and other countries were recovering.
