Exercise Energy Compensation

We see more exercise energy compensation in people who are already exercising a ton and have a high level of energy expenditure. And so it makes sense that if we then introduce an increase in physical activity or cardio exercise, we see that that is yet another area where during an energy deficit, the body is going to try to essentially limit the impact on energy expenditure. The third factor that seems to be popping up in the literature that predicts an individual's level of compensation is BMI, but we need some more research before we can actually act upon this observation.
