Dinitra is a diverse group, about 11 or 12 species. They are called the tar weeds because they produce these noxious smelling compounds. In Baja, California, it's really interesting right? Because the vernal pools down there are pretty far disjunct from other parts of California. And in some ponds, you have plants that are even specialized in centric, centrifugal circles as the pool is drying up.
