Eckhart's the Infinite Emptiness of God
The cross is a crucifixion of our dreaded and cherished illusions that anything less than an infinite union with the infinite love of God will be enough for us. The invincibility of the love permeating it all unexplainably was manifested perfectly in the world. Eckhart says, as long as there's still a place in you to dwell with God, you're not yet poor. And so we're trying to be emptied of having anything.
