Brahm's Final Fugue
The final section of this huge movement emerges as another fugue on the text, thou art worthy o lord. For the very first time in the eace, we get a prayer for the dead, not the living. This music calls forth with the power of beethoven, the elegance of handel and the technical mastery and devotion of bach. It is yet another example of brahm's taking an example from bach, from handel and also from beethoven.
