When you think about your father and his focus on the past, just like a little side note question, do you think that there was some part of him that blamed himself for what had happened? Of course. We all have this inner voice and rarely do we stop to think like, where does that inner voice come from? Like that? It's always kind of running in our head. And so I think that that obviously comes up in the book. A lot of the work that I do, especially when I talk about transgenerational empathy, especially empathy for the self, it was from seeing what my dad hadn't done. He was on that silent generation that didn't talk about it
