i've got a huge list about my own and those of my friends. Let me start with what my friends recommended, and then maybe manoge can jump in if he has any an. Amit warma said it opened his eyes to how languages of the present can reveal so much about events in the distant past. Tpolyglot is a pluralist because you see that there are so many different languages. Each language brings a package of values, metaphors, stories and ways of life. And a polyglot, or a person who speaks many languages and understands many languages, can appreciate the beauty of all of these. So amidst the recommendations, really nice. I look forward to reading
