Lionel Wayford described Panama as a paradise of jaguars, harpy eagles and American crocs. The Darien region in reality is really hot with dense rainforests,. There are mangrove swamps and there are low mountains. So it's not exactly sound like the best spot to send shipfuls of Scottish immigrants.
