The Importance of Being a Subject in a Study
When I was a PhD student, we decided that we were poor and man our stipend just was not going to give us much over our daily bread. And it's very different from biomedical research like you're describing in my early days. In terms of training studies, money is never on the table. We've got the public databases with just performance. Now we've got these proprietary tools like trainer road or training peaks and so forth That have opened up for a wonderful digital footprint of training that we can analyze and quantify in different ways.
