The Mindset Shift That Led Me to Freelancing

I had worked in Vancouver in at various game studios for years. And then I took a job over in Victoria, BC, which is just across the water on Vancouver Island from Vancouver. The reason I moved to Victoria was Microsoft was starting a studio here. We did a lot of cool stuff all over there, but it just didn't pan out. So when that studio closed down, I wanted to stay in Victoria. You know, so at that point, it was like, well, you know, because there isn't a big scene here. I had to go freelance and just work that way.
