The Importance of Giving Thanks in the Eucharist
Eucharist means Thanksgiving. The Eucharistic prayer, prayer of Thanksgiving for the bread and the wine has been a standard part of Christian liturgy from the beginning. We're either implicitly giving thanks or explicit and thanks that infuses Eucharist into everything that we're doing. And it's a way that worship kind of repatterns us and reprograms us so that we are acting in the world as God intends to act.
