The Budget for the Single Parenting Payment
The payment used to go until children were 16 prior to that change so why not raise it back to that level? So raising it to 14 is an investment of about $1.9 billion over the four estimates and I think if you went to 16 it would certainly be substantially more than that in the hundreds of millions. The arrangement's under the single parenting payment is that mutual obligations kick in at six years old and that will remain. But we have abolished the parents next program which bought in mutual obligations for a subset of those on parenting payments with kids aged nine months to six years.
