Is It Too Late to Increase the Balance Sheet?
The Fed has been trying to tighten financial conditions without killing the economy. But right now with inflationary expectations being well entrenched, it is a bit too late to be asking that question on the part of the Fed. They may well crash the economy, but I don't see any alternative for them to do it unless they want to just say right now inflation has come down a bit. That's the other alternative.
