The Intensity of the Oral Argument
David Gergen: There was a lot of intensity in the oral argument itself, but there are times when it seemed pretty tense. He says one theme that North Carolina's attorney did quite well is he tried to do two things at once and preserve race alone as an individualized factor. Gergen: The other topic for him was you can rule for us and not Harvard - which I think was a pretty shrewd kind of thing.
